Liia Ann White
Meet Liia Ann White!
Liia Ann White is an Australian author, hailing from Perth, WA.
She spent her childhood daydreaming about far off lands, creating her own unique characters. She read books about witches, faeries, demons, ghosts and a host of supernatural creatures and eventually gained the courage to put her imagination to work.
A self-proclaimed geek, Liia collects Disney and Star Wars memorabilia, loves animals and wishes to be the female Cesar Millan.
When not writing, she can be found reading, playing video games or spending time with her two dogs.
She’s a member of Romance Writers of America, Romance Writers of Australia, Passionate Ink, Futuristic, Fantasy & Paranormal Chapter of RWA and Young Adult Chapter of Romance Writers of America.
First question:
Eggnog or Mimosas? Are you old enough to drink?
I’ve never tried eggnog – I don’t think we have it in Australia, so I’m going to say Mimosas.. Because who can say no to a Mimosa?
We’re also taking pictures with Santa, did you bring a gift for him? (Maybe a new release or a pretty book cover…)
I brought him a copy of Her First White Christmas, it comes free with a hug and a kiss!
Remy Sommers has grown weary of his playboy lifestyle. He’s ready to fall in love and settle down. Problem is, he doesn’t know where to start. After attending his sister’s wedding, he takes her advice and contacts the 1 Night Stand dating agency – the same agency she used to find her new husband.
Bella Donna has had enough of blind dates. She’s always left bitterly disappointed. On the advice of a friend, she contacts Madame Evangeline, hoping her reputation precedes her and she can find Bella Donna her perfect man.
A mysterious invitation from Madame Evangeline leads them both to the secluded and exclusive Castillo Lodge in Alaska for a holiday event.
Will they get their happily ever after? Or will their first white Christmas end in disaster and disappointment?
Please enter. Drinks are served by the elves in the corner.
What’s your favorite holiday and why?
I love Christmas because it’s a time of giving, when family gets together and it’s now the only time of year that my whole family – parents and siblings – are all together for a whole week, with no work.
Did you ask Santa for anything good?
I asked for him to make a donation to the RSPCA WA instead of a present J
What’s your favorite place to spend the holidays?
My house. Every Christmas night, our house is an open house. All our friends and family friends come over, hang out on the patio, drink by the bar, pig out on food and relax in the spa. There’s a lot of laughter, excited yelling, games being played, drinks being spilled and running around with the dogs. It’s a lot of fun at our house!
What is your favorite Christmas memory?
I think I was about ten when Santa left some treasure hunt notes on mine and my brother’s beds. We were led out to the letterbox, to the bathroom, all around the house before finally being led to the back yard. There we found a play climbing frame covered in shade cloth, obviously hiding something. It was hiding two brilliant brand new bikes for us! It was so much fun.
Do you have personal resolutions for the New Years? Anything interesting?
I have a very personal one that I won’t share and a writing one – I want to get at least one more 1Night Stand story written and published, as well as two other shorts. AND, my biggest, to get my Young Adult Urban Fantasy novel finished and submitted.
Why do you write romance?
Because everybody deserves a happily ever after. I love reading a good romance filled with hot sex and a lovey dovey ending, so writing it is just as much fun.
How long have you been writing for? And how would you describe your publication journey?
I’ve been writing on and off since I was twelve, but writing seriously for just over a year. My publishing journey has been an absolute dream. I worked incredibly hard on my first novel, revising, rewriting and polishing it for submission but the work was definitely worth it. I received five contract offers for that first novel and the two shorts I’ve finished since then have both been published.
Are you a plotter or pantser? What is your routine?
I’m what I call a plonster. I’ll start out with a basic outline, plot and know where the story is going – but then my characters take over and change things around as they please. Not that I’m complaining.
What characteristics do all your heroes/heroines have in all your stories?
At least one of my leads is Australian and vegan or vegetarian. Those are the two characteristics I will always include in my hero or heroine, because I feel as an animal activist, I can promote my feelings through my characters. And I write Aussies because, as an Aussie, it’s what I know best.
What advice would you give aspiring authors?
Take all the advice you can get. Some you’ll take on board, some won’t apply to you, but all of it will be helpful in some way. If I hadn’t taken the advice of author friends I have, I never would have gotten published.
What are you working on right now?
I’m currently working on a follow up to my 1NS story One Hot Australian Night, as well as another 1NS that involves Bella Donna’s (from Her First White Christmas) best friend.
I’m also working on the follow up to my debut urban fantasy romance Elora’s Match and my Young Adult Urban Fantasy, that will one day get finished *fingers crossed*

What a fun Christmas treasure hunt story! My parents weren’t that imaginative. I love the 1 night stand series, and I can’t wait to read yours. I think a story about a playboy that’s ready to settle down would be so awesome! And the cover is HAWT!!
I hope you’ve had a very merry holiday season!

From my perspective, it would be so strange to celebrate Christmas in the summer. Of course, that wouldn’t be strange for you at all. For what holiday do you snuggle up by the fire and sip hot cocoa?

Austrailians have the perfect weather for Christmas. Hard to imagine spending it on the patio. Ya’ll have to get with the program and get into some eggnog. Girl, you don’t know what you’re missing.
I wish you every success as you venture forth in your writing career.
